Omkar Waghmare

Data Scientist

Omkar joined Lown Institute in September 2023 as a data scientist. Prior to this role, he worked at a healthcare analytics startup where he leveraged LLMs to develop an embedded analytics platform. This platform delivered actionable insights based on user queries. In addition, Omkar was responsible for implementing Patient Safety Indicators (PSIs) in compliance with CMS specifications. These indicators measured healthcare quality in a hospital inpatient setting. His educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Pune and a Master’s Degree in Data Science from Northeastern University.


Outside of his data-related work, Omkar enjoys spending time with friends, going on hikes, and shooting hoops on the basketball court.
